Da'awatul Islamia of Somerset
SALAH (prayer)
Salah is the second pillar of Islam after Shahadah (Faith). Being a Muslim it is obligatory on us to offer Salah five times daily.
Salah reminds us throughout the day to be mindful of Allah SWT in the daily stress of work, family, and distractions of life.
Allah SWT says in Holy Quran: “Recite what is sent of the Book by inspiration to thee, and establish Regular Prayer: for Prayer restrains from shameful and unjust deeds; and remembrance of Allah is the greatest (thing in life) without the doubt. And Allah knows the (deeds) that ye do.” (Quran, 29:45).
Abu Huraira reported that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:”The nearest a servant comes to his Lord is when he is prostrating himself, so make supplication (in this state).” (Sahih Bukhari).
